Laura Skaret brings many years of prior dental experience to the team. She has been a registered dental hygienist since 2008 and has an additional four years of dental experience working as a dental receptionist and a dental assistant. Her prior experience is a tremendous asset as she brings both clinical knowledge of dentistry and understanding of dental practice operations and systems to the Safety Net Solutions (SNS) program. Laura joined the DentaQuest Institute team at the end of 2012. As a SNS Project Manager, Laura works directly with safety net dental programs throughout the country. She performs in-depth practice analysis of dental clinic management and operations, develops summaries of findings and recommendations, and creates step-by-step improvement plans for her clients. Laura also offers support to dental programs during the two year implementation phase of the dental program improvement process, creating and providing sample policies, practice management resources, individualized financial/productivity goals, business plans, job descriptions, and providing coaching and motivation. As an SNS project manager she also performs needs assessments, environmental assessments, and feasibility studies for clinic startups. Laura has presented at various national platforms on the following topics: broken appointment management, emergency care management, building and supporting a strong front desk team, marketing best practices, creating clear patient communication, and documenting improved oral health outcomes.
